This infrastructure team helps guide the product localization process throughout Smartsheet. The solutions that you design and implement in the localization process will have a direct impact on improving the company's efficiency and scalability. You will use your technical expertise to influence product internationalization, localization tools, builds, roadmaps, and priorities. The focus in this role is on the build system - tying together localization metadata into the core pipelines needed by teams within Smartsheet. You ensure world-readiness of our products and always make improvements to our localization process. This will give you a large impact both within Smartsheet and globally among our customers.

You will report to our Senior Manager of Engineering based in Bellevue, WA. You also have the option to work remotely from any Smartsheet registered location within the United States.
You Will:

Drive the integration of our CI/CD pipelines and localization services to streamline the localization workflow and automate manual steps in this process

Drive internationalization features and ensure our products are localizable and ready for the global market
- Identify automation solutions to improve localization processes
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and collaborate with partner tech teams on driving tool fixes and enhancements.

Define user requirements and guide testing and implementation of new features
- Manage maintenance and optimization of our existing localization services
- Work with different engineering teams to understand their needs and adapt process to simplify their workflows
You Have:

5+ years experience in engineering working with cross functional teams
-
3+ years of experience designing and building pipelines in GitLab
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements

Strong technical knowledge of globalization, internationalization, and localization standards and technology and localization workflows within different systems

Hands-on experience setting up and automating workflows
- Work within a diverse, global team
- Experience building automated translation solutions, esp. using Serge
- Experience with AWS cloud services (Lambda, Databases, EC2, ECS)
- Infrastructure as Code - Worked before with Terraform or/and Terragrunt
- Previous experience working with Localization Teams and external suppliers
- Flexibility to work with different technologies and languages such as Python, Java, and others

BS or MS in Computer Science, a related field, equivalent industry experience, or equivalent educational experience
