You will design and implement a complete Datadog observability solution for .NET applications and their underlying infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Design the end-to-end observability architecture, including log consolidation and telemetry integration for on-prem and cloud-hosted applications.
  • Instrument monolithic .NET applications to expose traces via OpenTelemetry SDK or Zipkin.
  • Automate the deployment of Datadog agents across diverse environments using Ansible and PowerShell.
  • Build actionable dashboards and alerts based on SLOs, the 4 Golden Signals, MELT, and RED approaches.
  • Conduct R&D labs for RUM, APM, and log consolidation to incubate new solutions.
  • Document observability standards, deployment guidance, and alert configurations.

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of experience with Datadog or alternative products like Dynatrace in critical production environments.
  • Expert knowledge of Datadog agent integration, APM, and RUM.
  • Proficiency in AWS services, specifically EC2, CloudWatch, and CloudTrail.
  • Experience converting Elasticsearch Grok patterns and filters to Datadog.
  • Ability to write Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or Packer.
  • Working knowledge of .NET application coding and log frameworks.
  • Strong experience with Ansible and PowerShell for automation.
  • Proven ability to connect telemetry data from cloud and on-prem sources into a single source of truth.
  • Experience building fault-tolerant solutions for automatic agent deployment.

Preferred Skills

  • Datadog Fundamentals certification or equivalent vendor certification.
  • AWS Associate-level certifications.
