Role and Responsibilities
As a Warehouse Material Handler at Amazon, you will be responsible for ensuring that orders are processed accurately and shipped on time. This active, hands-on role requires working in a high-energy environment where teamwork and technology are essential. Key responsibilities include:
• Receiving and Processing: Unload, inspect, and organize incoming shipments and materials.
• Picking and Packing: Use handheld scanners to select customer orders and securely pack products for delivery.
• Shipping: Label, stage, and prepare packages to ensure timely shipment.
• Workplace Maintenance: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment at all times.
• Equipment Operation: Operate pallet jacks, carts, or forklifts (with certification) safely and perform required safety checks.
• Team Collaboration: Coordinate with team members and supervisors to achieve daily operational targets.
• Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all Amazon safety standards, OSHA regulations, and PPE requirements.
Required Skills and Experience
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Ability to consistently lift up to 50 lbs
• Comfortable standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order fulfillment
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Basic computer proficiency and experience with handheld scanners or warehouse systems
Preferred Qualifications
• Prior warehouse or logistics experience (not required)
• Forklift certification is advantageous; training is available if needed
