This Senior Accountant will apply technical expertise and skills to develop a strategy that helps guide a large DoW service toward a successful, financial statement audit. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:<ul><li>Demonstrate proficiency with accounting and auditing concepts and apply them to client situations</li><li>Possess a mastery of process documentation, risk assessment, planning, and writing skills</li><li>Develop detailed plans that implement. strategic goals and overall audit strategy</li><li>Provide subject matter technical expertise to team in financial management areas of financial reporting, audit remediation planning, and financial statement compilation</li><li>Support strategic communications to foster coordination of enterprise stakeholders</li><li>Self-starter takes the initiative to deliver quality work products to the client with little direction from supervisor</li><li>Utilize technology to share knowledge with team members, develop skills, and continually learn</li></ul> Qualifications Required Qualifications:<ul><li>Bachelors degree from an accredited college/university </li><li>Minimum of four (4) years of general financial management and accounting experience, of which two (2) years shall consist of experience performing financial statement audits or audit readiness services within the Department of Defense or the federal government</li><li>Understanding of GAS, GAAP, SSFAS, audit procedures, audit cycle, and financial analysis techniques, as they apply to DoD financial statements and assessable units</li><li>Proficient in MS Project</li><li>Strong customer service skills</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communications skills</li><li>Active Secret Clearance (U.S. citizenship required)</li></ul>KCO1701 #LI-Remote #LI-MA1 Overview Exclusively focused on the Government, Kearney & Company provides financial services, including auditing, consulting, and technology services. This range is representative of base pay only and does not include straight time pay for hours worked over 40 per week, company contributions towards paid benefits, and/or bonuses. Actual compensation (meeting or exceeding the range) will be determined based on specific experience, education, work location, clearance level, and other factors permitted by law. This position is eligible for bonuses (when applicable).
