<strong>About The Role<br><br></strong>We’re seeking an experienced PHP and Laravel Developer with a deep love for technology and a genuine curiosity about how AI is transforming modern development.<br><br>Our client manages and rebuilds a suite of dynamic web properties — some built in pure PHP, others within the Laravel framework — and they’re looking for someone who can confidently work across both environments, including occasional legacy systems (PHP 5).<br><br>This is a hands-on, fully remote role where you’ll take ownership of feature delivery, performance optimisation, and technical problem-solving — while leveraging AI-assisted tools to streamline workflows and elevate code quality.<br><br>Key Responsibilities<br><br><ul><li>Design and deliver high-quality, maintainable, and scalable PHP/Laravel codebases. </li><li>Work across both modern and legacy systems, contributing to rebuild and modernisation projects. </li><li>Utilise AI-powered development and diagnostic tools to boost productivity and maintain code excellence. </li><li>Refactor and optimise existing codebases for improved performance and stability. </li><li>Collaborate via GitHub to assess, prioritise, and refine development tasks, ensuring alignment with sprint goals. </li><li>Maintain robust security standards and ensure optimal system performance. </li><li>Quickly resolve technical or IT issues to minimise downtime. </li><li>Occasionally train or support non-technical colleagues in CMS usage and web best practices. </li><li>Communicate progress clearly and proactively with the wider remote team. <br><br></li></ul><strong>About You<br><br></strong>We’re looking for a developer who’s:<br><br><ul><li>Highly proficient in PHP and Laravel (including familiarity with PHP 5 and newer versions). </li><li>Experienced with GitHub, version control, and modern CI/CD workflows. </li><li>Passionate about AI-assisted development, automation, and continuous improvement. </li><li>Confident debugging and refactoring complex systems. </li><li>Strong communicator — able to explain technical issues in simple terms. </li><li>Detail-oriented, dependable, and thrives in a fully remote, collaborative team environment.</li></ul>
