Part-Time Interior Design Assistant

Location: Mostly Remote (U.S. only, Los Angeles preferred)

About Us:
We are a growing, part-time interior design business focused on creating thoughtful, functional, and tailored residential spaces. We are looking for a reliable and creative Design Assistant to primarily support design projects, with some light social media responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with 3D design concepts and layouts using Homestyler and/or SketchUp
• Refine room designs, furniture layouts, and material selections
• Create mood boards and client presentation materials
• Source furniture, décor, and finishes based on project needs and budget
• Organize product lists, links, and project files

Secondary (Social Media) Responsibilities:

• Post completed designs and project content on Instagram and the website
• Write clear, engaging captions aligned with brand style
• Assist with basic content planning and scheduling
• Create simple graphics using Canva as needed

Qualifications:

• Experience with Homestyler and SketchUp, Photoshop, and Google Workspace
• Strong eye for interior design, color, and spatial layout
• Familiarity with Instagram and Pinterest for business use
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines
• Self-starter comfortable working independently

Preferred (Not Required):

• Interior design education or student currently enrolled
• Experience assisting a designer or working on residential projects

Compensation:

• $19–$26 per hour, based on experience

Paid Trial Period:
Final candidates will be invited to complete a 1-week paid trial (4–6 hours total). During this trial, you will:

• Create or refine a simple room design using provided direction
• Source a small selection of furniture and décor items
• Prepare a basic mood board or presentation
• Draft 1–2 social media posts based on the design

This trial is paid at the agreed hourly rate and is used to determine fit for ongoing work.
