We're hiring a Legal Professional for our Family and Estates department in Cape Town who can use the law to help our policyholders make informed decisions and solve their legal challenges. In this role, you'll give legal advice, mediate disputes, negotiate on behalf of clients, and draft important legal documents. You'll be part of a talented team that works together in a supportive, collaborative environment.Salary and Benefits:R240,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.Discovery Health Medical AidRetirement Annuity ContributionHealthy Company BenefitsWhat You'll Be Doing:Talking with clients to understand their needs and providing quick, clear legal and product advice.Helping mediate disputes, working towards settlements and preparing documentsAttending to family and estate filesDrafting legal documents and correspondence tailored to the needs of each client.Drafting of letters and contracts such as warning letters, referrals, letters of demand, lease agreements and any other letters as required;Keeping detailed and organized case file notes, with regular updates to make sure everything is clear and accurate.Updating clients on their cases, so they always know what's happening.Explaining legal issues in a way that's easy to understand and recording them properly on case files.Reviewing cases and offering clear legal and merit opinions to help policyholders make informed decisions.Following the company's procedures and policies to maintain high standards in all your work.Qualifications:An LLB degreeAdmitted as an attorney or advocateAt least 2+ years post admission experience in Family and Estates related disputesMust demonstrate proficiency in two official African languages, of which Sotho /Tswana should be oneKey Competencies:Strong legal knowledge and understanding of legal principlesAbility to communicate effectively in two official languages of which Sotho /Tswana should be oneSelf-driven and able to lead when needed.Clear communicator who works well with others.Friendly and easy to get along with.Good at working with the team to meet goals.Able to plan and think ahead with effective time management skillsStrong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.Can spot risks and take steps to avoid them.Professional and approachable.Makes ethical decisions that support both clients and the company.Why LAW FOR ALL?
