Remote | Part-time (20–25 hrs/week) with potential to grow into full-time
About Us
We are an established accounting and bookkeeping firm serving a diverse book of clients with full-charge bookkeeping, controller-level support, and tax services. Over the past ten years, we've grown from a solo practice into a team of 25+ professionals, and we're looking for our next long-term team member.
About the Role
We're hiring an experienced bookkeeper/staff accountant who lives and breathes QuickBooks Online. You'll manage day-to-day bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients while contributing to higher-level financial work - this role goes beyond data entry and reconciliations.
You'll work independently managing your own client workload, while reporting to and collaborating closely with an account manager who oversees client relationships and reviews your work. If you thrive with autonomy in your daily tasks but appreciate the structure, feedback, and support of a manager, this role is built for you.
What You'll Do
Full-charge bookkeeping for multiple clients in QuickBooks Online: transaction coding, bank/credit card reconciliations, A/P, A/R, and month-end close
Prepare accurate, timely financial statements and supporting schedules
Assist with controller-level work: cash flow monitoring, budget vs. actual analysis, financial reporting packages, and clean-up/catch-up projects
Communicate proactively with your account manager on client status, questions, and deadlines
Maintain organized workpapers and follow firm workflows and checklists
What We're Looking For
QuickBooks Online expertise — 5+ years of hands-on QBO experience; ProAdvisor certification strongly preferred
Proven stability — a demonstrated track record of long-tenured roles; we invest heavily in training and client continuity, and we're looking for someone seeking a long-term professional home
Self-directed work style — you manage your own schedule and deliverables reliably without micromanagement
Coachability — you welcome direction, review, and feedback from a manager and follow established firm processes
Finance skills beyond bookkeeping — experience with financial analysis, budgeting, cash flow forecasting, or controller support; degree in accounting/finance or equivalent experience preferred
Strong attention to detail, deadline discipline, and clear written communication
Familiarity with practice management tools (Canopy, Monday.com) a plus
Schedule & Compensation
Part-time to start, with a clear path to full-time hours for the right person as client assignments grow
Flexible, remote work; set your own schedule within client deadlines
Compensation commensurate with experience
1099 contractor engagement
Pay: $1,000.00 - $4,000.00 per month
Application Question(s):
What is the longest you've stayed in a single bookkeeping/accounting role, and what kept you there?
Describe financial work you've performed beyond standard bookkeeping (e.g., budgeting, cash flow forecasting, financial analysis)
How many years of experience do you have with month-end close for multiple clients simultaneously?
